Meet Bryan Vargas

Bryan Luis Vargas is a Mexican American artist, designer, and creative born and raised in the Bay Area. With roots in Guerrero and Michoacán, his work is shaped by culture, identity, music, and storytelling. He is a graduate of California State University, East Bay, where he earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA).

From a young age, Bryan was drawn to creativity through sci-fi cartoons, superhero films, comic books, and drawing. Inspired by characters like Spider-Man and Optimus Prime, he spent much of his childhood creating original heroes and comics, discovering early on that art was a powerful form of storytelling.

His creative perspective expanded in 2019 with the rise of corridos tumbados. Artists such as Natanael Cano, Junior H, Fuerza Regida, and Herencia de Patrones introduced a new sound that blended traditional Mexican music with modern influences. Inspired by the genre's storytelling, Bryan taught himself guitar and developed a deeper appreciation for the history of corridos as a voice for culture, community, and lived experiences.

While attending college, Bryan was introduced to Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, opening the door to digital design and visual communication. What began with sketchbooks evolved into a multidisciplinary creative practice spanning graphic design, photography, creative direction, and fashion.

Today, Bryan creates work that blends Mexican American identity, music culture, and contemporary streetwear. Through personal projects and his clothing brand Estilo Libre, he develops visuals that feel cinematic, nostalgic, and culturally rooted. At the core of every project is the same passion that began in kindergarten: a lifelong desire to create and tell stories.
