I provided mentorship and guidance to high school students with limited work experience, supporting their development of essential job-readiness skills. I facilitated weekly workshops focused on professional communication, time management, problem-solving, and workplace expectations, while also assisting in tracking student progress and sharing feedback with program coordinators. In addition to mentoring, I contributed to the visual design of the program by creating flyers for a student certification event and collaborating with my team to design Canva presentation decks that reinforced training themes and supported clear, engaging instruction at the Sponsored Employment Program.
In a customer-facing role, I delivered fast and friendly service by proactively engaging with customers to answer product questions and provide assistance. I handled phone sales, processed customer returns, and facilitated online orders and in-store pickups while supporting order fulfillment and merchandising efforts. Through collaboration with vendors and team members, I contributed to a positive customer experience by applying critical thinking and problem-solving skills to resolve issues efficiently. I also utilized bilingual communication skills in Spanish to better assist diverse customers and enhance overall service quality.
I participated in CodePath’s Intro to Web Development course, attending weekly Saturday morning Zoom sessions with over 300 students. I gained hands-on experience with fundamental web design concepts, including HTML and CSS, and learned how code manipulates elements such as images, text, and background colors on websites. For our final project, I collaborated on creating a website focused on social justice issues using the Repl platform, applying my skills in structure, design, and visual communication.
As a Social Media Coordinator at JobTrain, I managed and posted content up to seven times per week across Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn. I utilized photography skills to capture and document key student events, including the Culinary Program Pinning Ceremony and the Medical Assistant Master Class. I also designed promotional materials such as flyers and banners for upcoming events, including career fairs, which were featured on jumbotrons in East Palo Alto and South San Francisco, on partner companies’ social media platforms, and through paid social campaigns. Additionally, I managed and ran advertisements using Facebook Ads Manager to support event promotion and audience engagement.
At La Cocina, I designed 18 catering menus for entrepreneurs and small food businesses from across San Francisco, Oakland, East Bay, etc. to support sales growth and strengthen their brand presence. I captured and organized over 100 professional photos from catering events for marketing and promotional use. Additionally, I developed a step-by-step Canva training slide deck for staff to enable ongoing design support and improve workflow efficiency. I also assisted in creating a client-facing brochure that highlighted La Cocina’s catering services and offerings, enhancing both outreach and visual communication.
I created and manage Estilo Libre, a TikTok account focused on educating and celebrating Mexican culture through informative slide-based content. My posts explore Mexican states and regions such as Guerrero, Michoacán, and Puebla, as well as traditions including Danza de los Viejitos, Chilenos, music genres like banda, mariachi, and corridos, and cultural topics such as lucha libre. Using research from online articles and videos, I translated complex cultural information into accessible, visually engaging slide posts that resonated with audiences interested in travel, learning, and cultural pride—particularly viewers of Mexican descent. Although the content is not video-based, the slide format proved highly effective, with my first post about lucha libre reaching six-figure views within the first week of launching the account. Over time, I observed sustained organic growth driven by TikTok search discoverability and niche alignment, with content continuing to surface in users’ algorithms even during periods of reduced posting. In December 2025 alone, the account reached 294K views, 29K likes, 1,419 shares, and 344 net followers, and it has since grown to over 6,800 followers. Through this project, I developed skills in content strategy, visual storytelling, audience analysis, research synthesis, and data-informed decision-making, while deepening my personal connection to the culture my parents are from and educating others through design and storytelling.
